"Forget-Me-Not" Sessions
Forget-Me-Not sessions are sometimes known as end-of-life or "farewell" sessions. These sessions capture intimate moments, small details, and raw emotion. Together, we create memories that can be cherished long after your friend has passed on. They are available for any pet/companion animal facing terminal illness or injury (including behavioral euthanasia) and senior horses who are over age 25. Other senior pets qualify on a case-by-case basis.

Investment
"Forget-Me-Not" sessions are offered at a lower hourly rate than my usual work, in order to continue to make these sessions more affordable to families who need them. Different photo packages allow clients greater flexibility in their budget. Prints and other products produced in professional labs are available at an additional cost, and I'm happy to supply you with a product price list upon request. All photo packages come with a credit that can be applied to the purchase of prints or products.
I charge for travel if my round trip travel will be more than 30 miles from Standish, ME. My flat rate is $0.35/mile for any mileage above the included 30 miles. I strive for transparency and am always happy to answer questions about what will best fit your needs.
If you cannot afford the base package for a "Forget-Me-Not" session, please reach out and ask if there are any "Forget-Me-Not Funds" available. Sometimes clients donate into this fund to help families who may not be able to afford a session.
Session Pricing - $120/hour
Pricing for "Forget-Me-Not" sessions follows the same pricing as much of my other work but is discounted by 20%. This flat rate covers the cost of the session itself. Digital photo downloads are purchased in packages for customizability and financial flexibility.
These sessions are available only for companion animals of any species facing terminal injury or illness (including behavioral euthanasia), or senior equines who are over 25 years old. Other senior pets will also qualify on a case-by-case basis.
Minimum session length is 30 minutes.
Photo Packages
- Bronze: $25 - 4 or fewer of your favorite images from your session and a $5 print credit.
- Silver: $50 - 9 of your favorite images from your session and a $10 print credit.
- Gold: $100 - 19 of your favorite images from your session and a $20 print credit.
- Platinum: $150 - 30 of your favorite images from your session and a $30 print credit. *Minimum 1.5hr session required for this package*
- Premium: $250 - 50 of your favorite images from your session and a $50 print credit. *Minimum 2hr session required for this package*
- Custom/Complete packages for more than 50 photos up to a complete gallery may be priced on an individual basis depending on the number of photos in the gallery. Custom/Complete packages are by request only.
All digital images are delivered via password-protected, personalized, online gallery. Images are sized appropriately for use online and on social media platforms. I do not include a print release but each package does include a print credit. I partner with professional printing labs to ensure the highest quality prints and products are delivered to you.

What's the point of a "Forget-Me-Not" session?
Forget-Me-Not sessions allow a special opportunity for folks to have professional photos with their beloved companions who are nearing the end of their life. It's a chance to celebrate the time you've shared together and have photos capturing your connection that you can look back on forever.
Why are "Forget-Me-Not" sessions priced differently?
As someone who has been involved with horses for over 25 years (and other pets for even longer!), I understand how expensive they can be, and there are are many additional expenses that can arise as a companion nears the end of their life. "Forget-Me-Not" sessions are offered at a discounted hourly rate in order to ensure they are more accessible to folks who may soon be losing a companion. Unfortunately, I cannot further discount the cost of the photos purchased, or prints and products.
When should I schedule my "Forget-Me-Not" session?
As soon as your pet is a senior, or is facing a potentially terminal diagnosis. We want to capture your friend when they're still feeling most like themself. I've never have anyone say that they wished they'd waited to schedule a session, but I have had folks wish they had done one sooner. If you're not sure if your pet qualifies, please reach out and we can discuss this on a case-by-case basis.
What if my pet doesn't look healthy anymore?
There are often ways we can be creative with angles and light to help your friend look their best for their session. Many clients find that even if their horse or pet doesn't look the same as they did in their prime, they cherish the photos of their later days too.
What if I'm not sure if I want "Forget-Me-Not" photos?
I always encourage the client to do what they are most comfortable with! These sessions probably aren't for everyone. But, any time I've had someone who was unsure but said "let's take some just in case I want them" they have always been glad they did.
What is the Forget-Me-Not Fund?
The Forget-Me-Not Fund allows individuals or businesses to contribute funds towards a Forget-Me-Not session for a family who might not otherwise be able to afford one. Individual photo clients may also donate a "tip" from their session to this fund. If you cannot afford a session, reach out and see if we have Forget-Me-Not funds available. Often it is not enough to pay for an entire session, but it can further help to lessen the financial burden.
